About April A. Verlato

A lifelong resident of Arcadia, April Verlato is a local small business owner, community leader and devoted mother of two.

A product of local schools, April attended Highland Oaks Elementary and Foothills Jr. High in Arcadia. She graduated from Westridge School for Girls and then went on to get her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from UCLA. She obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern School of Law in Downtown Los Angeles.  Shortly thereafter, April took over her father’s law practice and has remained an active member of the city’s small business community ever since.

She serves on the executive board of the PTA at her children’s schools for many years.

April was elected to Arcadia City Council in 2016 and served as Mayor from April 2019-May 2020.  She was re-elected to a second term on Arcadia City Council in April 2020.

Downtown Arcadia Improvement Association

April is a founding member of the Downtown Arcadia Improvement Association, where she has worked to reinvigorate life into the city center. She has worked on the committees that organize the Patriotic Festival and Fireworks, Halloween Haunt and Holiday Fair.  April has been at the forefront of promoting the vitality of the city’s business community and working to ensure that Arcadia continues to achieve growth.

April is a resident of the Arcadia Highlands, where she lives with her husband of 13 years and their two children.
